Mission Statement
Gwent Charity Brass is a group of musicians whose aim is to support charity fundraising while enjoying making music in good company.

2026
This year Gwent Charity Brass is delighted to be visiting Menorca once again. It will be wonderful to see our friends and supporters in the audiences again. The group will also be working with the young musicians from Es Castell and Sant Lluis in masterclasses and concerts.

We are honoured to be allowed to take part in the Semana Santa Processions from the Santa Maria on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Concerts are booked in Alaior, Es Castell, illa del Rei, Mahón and Sant Lluis.

Gwent Charity Brass and Menorca - 2024 - quarter of a century
2024, was the 25th anniversary of the first ever visit of a brass band to Menorca to take part in the Semana Santa Processions.

In 2000, Lana Tingay brought her then band, Friezland, from Saddleworth in the North West of England, to Menorca. There has been no turning back and a British brass band has become a traditional sight in the Semana Santa celebrations.
Lana now directs Gwent Charity Brass during the Easter tours.

During the 2017 Easter tour the Mayoress of Mahón honoured Lana Tingay and the group for the contributions made to Mahón's Easter celebrations since 2000.

In 2016 Lana
was honoured by the Rotary Club of Menorca and awarded Honorary Life Membership.

The group looks forward to continuing its long association with the Island in 2026.
